Growing up the daughter of a touring musician, Cynthia literally grew up on the road touring with her father’s show band. It was that life and growing up watching her father perform that made her realize at a pretty young age what she wanted to do with her life. Cynthia began her professional career in the entertainment industry at the age of 12 as a member of the Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede as a dancer and gymnast. Her very first professional theatrical production was with the Young Canadians production of Fiddler on the Roof in which she played the youngest daughter Bielka. At the age of 17 she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be part of the opening act for Tina Turner and she hasn’t looked back since. She spent 12 years on the road working as a dancer, singer and actor. She has worked as lead singer and front for show bands on the Interstate Hotel circuit and has toured with various theatrical and dinner theatre companies throughout the country. Cynthia can boast that she has performed in every state but Alaska and Hawaii, every Province, and the Caribbean. Some of her recent theatre credits include A.R.T.S productions of A Christmas Carol The Musical (Ghost of Christmas Past) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Sophia) and Les Miserable (Locket Crone/featured Ensemble) and C.T.G.’s productions of Damn Yankees (Lola), White Christmas (Rhoda) and Gypsy (Mazeppa). Other professional credits include Baby (Lizzie), A Chorus Line (Diana), Bye Bye Birdie (Rosie), 42nd Street (Maggie) and Into the Woods (The Witch) and more. After the birth of her son Ryan, Cynthia changed her career path, put herself through college and obtained a degree in Theatre and Dance Education in the state of Colorado after which she became a high school drama and dance teacher and coach for several years. As a teacher she directed and choreographed endless productions as well as spending 3 years as a high school technical director. She recently moved to California to help her son pursue his goals of working in the industry and along with trying to get back into the industry herself, she is currently a substitute teacher for the Hart School District as well as works as the resident Costume Designer for the Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi Valley.
